It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ezra Alvarez of Derry, NH. Ezra was born on October 1, 1961 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Felix and Carmen Alvarez.

Ezra was a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold. He was always quick to help anyone in need and would go out of his way to make sure everyone was happy. Ezra loved spending time with his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ezra is survived by his wife Carmen Alvarez, his son Felix Alvarez, his daughter Carmen Alvarez, and his grandchildren Carmen Alvarez, Felix Alvarez, and Carmen Alvarez.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 11:00am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Derry, NH.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ezra Alvarez. Ezra passed away on May 5, 2018 at the age of 21.

Ezra was born on April 4, 1997 in Derry, NH. He was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy and had plans to attend college in the fall. Ezra was a talented artist and enjoyed drawing and painting. He also loved music and playing the drums.

Ezra was a kind and gentle soul who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was always quick to help others and had a heart of gold. Ezra was taken from us far too soon and will be forever in our hearts.

A funeral service will be held on May 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Derry, NH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ezra’s memory to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

3.Ezra Alvarez, Derry NH, Obituary

Ezra Alvarez was born on May 12, 1925, in Nashua, New Hampshire, the son of Joseph and Jennie (Gorman) Alvarez. He was raised and educated in Nashua, and was a graduate of Nashua High School.

Ezra enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943, and served his country during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946, and returned home to Nashua.

On June 22, 1946, Ezra was united in marriage to the love of his life, Anita (Poirier) Alvarez, and they made their home in Nashua. Anita passed away on September 26, 2014.

Ezra worked as a machinist for the Nashua Corporation for many years, before retiring in 1987.

He was a lifelong member of the Nashua Elks Lodge #772, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

Ezra passed away on March 10, 2020, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire. He was 94 years old.

He is survived by his children, Paula Alvarez of Derry, New Hampshire, and Mark Alvarez and his wife, Tina, of Nashua; his grandchildren, Sarah and her husband, Michael, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Andrew of Nashua; and his great-grandson, Owen.

In addition to his wife, Anita, Ezra was predeceased by his son, Joseph Alvarez; and his siblings, Raymond Alvarez, Arthur Alvarez, and Dorothy Gorman.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 36 West Hollis Street, Nashua. Burial will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ezra’s memory may be made to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on December 16, 1922, to Rosa and Isidro Alvarez, Ezra was one of six children. In 1934, at the age of 12, he and his family moved to New York City. Ezra worked a variety of jobs to help support his family, including shining shoes and working as a busboy. He eventually found work in a factory, where he met his future wife, Ruth.

Ezra and Ruth married in 1942 and had three children together: David, Carmen, and Nancy. The family eventually settled in Derry, New Hampshire, where Ezra worked as a machinist. He retired in 1987, but continued to stay active, volunteering at a local hospital and spending time with his grandchildren.

Ezra was a kind and loving man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his three children, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Ezra was born on August 8, 1934 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Elias and Carmen Alvarez. He was one of nine children. Ezra was a devoted husband to his wife of 64 years, Gloria Alvarez. He was a loving father to his four children, Carmen, Lydia, Ezra Jr., and David Alvarez. He was a proud grandfather to his eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ezra was a hard-working man who devoted his life to providing for his family. He worked as a machinist for many years before retiring. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, reading, and watching baseball.

Ezra was a kind and gentle man who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 10 Winter Street, Derry, NH. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery,
